Problems in Sperms

Semen Analysis Semen analysis is an indispensable part of evaluation of an infertile couple. It is accepted that if semen analysis report is normal, male factor is usually said to be normal. However, a single abnormal semen analysis does not always mean that there is any abnormality in the man. This is, because, semen consists of 2 parts- the sperms and the fluid (“seminal plasma”). In a man, sperm production requires 3 months and it needs cool temperature than rest of the body. This is why, men have their testes hanging outside the body in the scrotum. Thus, […]

Repeated Miscarriage and Infertility

Patient presented to us with previous 2 early miscarriage (no heart beat seen) followed by secondary Infertility. All investigations were normal (hormones, ultrasound, tubes, semen). Regarding Miscarriage- karyotype, Anti Phospho lipid antibody, 3D ultrasound all were normal. She was obese with hypothyroid. As a treatment of “UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY” she received several cycles. The Recurrent Miscarriage was also UNEXPLAINED. We discussed with her next treatment plan. She tried to wait and fortunately conceived within 3 months SPONTANEOUSLY. Regarding UNEXPLAINED REPEATED MISCARRIAGE, we discussed with her treatment options and their limitations and lack of GUARANTEE that these treatment are 100% […]

Infertility- what couple wants

In Infertility, it’s very important to LISTEN to the couple’s Voice and RESPECT that. A Doctor should NOT take any decision. Rather the doctor explain to the couple, different treatment options, the merits and demerits of each option, so that the COUPLE CAN TAKE DECISION. We encourage the couples to take time, to discuss between themselves and to read different articles BEFORE TAKING the DECISION FOR A PARTICULAR TREATMENT. No treatment is the BEST. Every treatment (Trying naturally, Ovulation Induction, IUI, IVF, Laparoscopy, Hysteroscopy) has its own benefits, risks and financial implications. So always ASK QUESTIONS to your […]

Infertility, Erectile Dysfunction, Sperm Freezing, Vibrator

This young couple came to us 2 years ago with “Infertility”. On further enquiry, we discovered that the problem was not purely “Infertility”, rather they did not have SINGLE ACT of INTERCOURSE (despite having been married for 4 years) due to severe Erectile Dysfunction (ED) of the husband. They did not take any treatment for ED before. After they visited us, different medicines were tried but all failed. His physical examination and Hormonal Profile were normal. Penile Doppler was done (to see if the blood flow to the Penis was normal). The Doppler revealed inadequate Erection but normal […]

blocked fallopian tubes

Single Fallopian Tube Block, Pcos, Pregnancy

PCOS women often conceive with simple weight reduction and Ovulation Induction (giving medicines to help the eggs grow and rupture). But while advising Ovulation Induction, it’s extremely important that the patient is monitored by TVS Follicular Study to see if the medicines are effective in causing Ovulation. Often we find one tube is blocked in HSG and other tube is open. If one tube is open, that’s enough to result in pregnancy, if other factors are OK. This lady has been trying for pregnancy for last one year. She is having PCOS and one tube blocked in […]

PCOS is hormonal disorder where there are irregular periods, excessive hair growth on face or body (“hirsutism”), loss of hair on head, oily skin, acne and weight gain along with polycystic ovaries found in ultrasound.
